What about a walk at sunset in Rocky Point?

Remember when you were a child and “curiosity” was your sand box? It was where you lived and played. Today, I see our 20 month old grandson ready to take his turn at building sand castles on our beautiful Playa Encanto beach 10 miles outside of Rocky Point. The look of curiosity is on his face. It’s a joy to watch.

Together, a walk on the beach is so much fun when you’re holding the hand of a child and seeing his delight. It has a way of touching your heart and reminding you how valuable time spent with loved ones really is.

What about a walk at sunset with the love of your life, hand in hand, being captured in the moment, saying I love you and kissing at water’s edge….together you’ve created a memory. These are magical together times by the sea in Rocky Point the paradise we love and call home.

Our ocean is warm and our beaches are beautiful offering a wide variety of sea life and coastline. It’s an easy four hour drive from Phoenix or Tucson and there’s a new four lane coastal highway connecting Puerto Penasco, “Rocky Point” and Southern California. The Coastal Highway shortens the driving distance from Southern California by approximately 100 miles. We’re seeing more vacationers enjoying our community by the sea this summer.

Puerto Penasco has three premier golf courses, one being a Jack Nicholas course at Mayan Palace where the first international “Uniting Nations” cup tournament was held from May 12 through 15th. The recent tournament is a look to the future.

Puerto Penasco has a rich culture of hospitality and warmth. With a friendly atmosphere it projects a feeling of “we are a community by the sea” and we welcome you to be part of our heritage. As a perfect location for retirees Puerto Penasco offers year round activities including a Shrimp and Commerce Festival, Chili Cook-off, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, Day of the Navy, Jazz by the Sea, Iron Chef Competition, Taste of Penasco, Las Conchas Annual Art in the Park, Penasco Children’s Foundation New Year’s Banquet and more.

For the sports enthusiasts Rocky Point has an Angler of the Year Tournament, Beach Volleyball Tour, Sky divers from Eloy, Arizona descend on Rocky Point annually, a Las Palomas Triathlon, Regatta at Playa Bonita, sand drags, parasailing, boating, kayaking, sailing, sunset cruises, scuba diving and off road adventures. Plus you can always find an ocean breeze to fly your favorite kite.

These are just some of reasons we fell in love with Rocky Point and why we continue to enjoy our community by the sea where there’s something for everyone from waves splashing, to children’s laughter it’s all here in Puerto Penasco.

The friendships we’ve built and the memories we’ve made will be with us always and they can happen for you in Rocky Point, our favorite beach side community where there’s no need for fancy window embellishments when you have a glorious sunrise and sunset just beyond the glass.

A Peñasco Toast
As we get older our birthdays come fast,
Sometimes it’s hard to remember the past.
But we’ve found a way to live with the order,
We just leave 50 years as we cross the border.
Recycled teenagers we’ve all become,
Enjoying life and each other, and just having fun.
So, lift your glass high and toast one another,
To teach each and every sister and brother.
To Puerto Penasco and all that it’s taught us,
To sun, fun and water and all that it’s brought us.
For most of us don’t need a bank-full,
For all we’ve found here we’ll always be thankful.
